ALWAYS, ALWAYS TAKE CARE OF THE ANIMALS. SO MANY PETS ARE ENDING UP IN SHELTERS OR ABANDONED, AND THEY NEED TO BE RESCUED, ADOPTED, FOSTERED, CARED FOR AND LOVED. OPEN YOUR HEART AND RESCUE AND ADOPT. CARE FOR YOUR OWN PETS AS PART OF THE FAMILY. THEY GIVE BACK 100 TIMES THE LOVE THEY RECEIVE!
On a sad note, we lost several friends this year and would like to take the time to remember them and to send them our love....We lost a few dear patients from the VA Hospital - Ron Bell and Paul Mitnik. We had visited them for over two years, and spent hours listening to their stories, and sharing laughter and hugs with them, and they both truly loved the dogs - especially Bandit, Jasmine, Mogley, Mr. Howl and Peppi. We lost Dog the Cat, Sparky, Cassie and Abbie,the Sheepdogs, and Betty the Rottie. They were special members of our family of friends. And sadly, we lost Marc Higgins, who left us, simply too soon! He was a husband, father, brother, and a veteran, and a dear friend of our family. He was the man behind our trainer, Kathy, and he will always be in our hearts. We lost a dear friend in our Therapy and Service Dog group, Barbara Anderson, who leaves behind six poodles. We move forward into 2012 knowing we have guardian angels watching over us. And I'll always mention our dear pal, Henley the Sheepdog and keep him close to our hearts. We'll miss you all, but know that you are in God's hands, and that you're at peace. Thank you for being in our lives.....

Welcome to my website! I am Bandit, The Big Black Dog! My mom and I have written and published our first book, "BANDIT Big Black Dog Who Stole My Heart." It's a book about our first year of adventures together. We just completed our second book, too. It'll be available this Spring, and its title is "Bandit's ABC's."
Big Black Dogs are getting a bad rap, and when we end up in a shelter, people most often won't adopt us. It may be because we're big, our beautiful black coats may appear scary or intimidating, because we're black we're difficult to photograph, or that we're too much to handle, and not worth the trouble of adoption. I'm here to change your mind. Some of us are bigger than other breeds but that just means there is more of us to love. Our dark color should remind you of black velvet, and not scare you. We love hugs! If you can find it in your heart, and want to adopt a dog, please consider a Big Black Dog.
There are so many of us in shelters, with little or no hope of ever being adopted. Too many of my Big Black Dog brothers and sisters are being put to sleep, without ever having the chance of being in a loving, forever home. Please Save a Big Black Dog. I don't think you'll ever regret it!
